Our story
How we met
A dating app, a security gate, and a first date that quietly stretched to thirteen hours. Here is how it all began.
The match
It started the very modern way — we matched on Hinge, traded a few messages, and set a first date. Beforehand, Vivianne sent Laurence a careful set of instructions for getting past the security gate at her community: what to say, who to ask for, all of it.
The plot twist
What she didn’t know was that Laurence already lived inside that same gated community. He drove straight in — no gate to talk his way through, no buffer — and pulled up early.
So much for the extra few minutes to get ready: just a flash of panic and, as it turned out, the perfect first impression.
The longest first date
The plan was a food night market in Berkeley — a bold pick for a first date forty-five minutes away. The conversation never once stalled.
We stayed about an hour, then figured we’d grab a snack in San Francisco. The snack turned into mini golf. Mini golf turned into a rooftop bar. One spontaneous yes led to the next.

From the very start
Between accidentally discovering we were neighbors and unintentionally committing to an all-day first date, it was clear pretty early on — this was going to be something.

We’d be honored to have you with us.
